First
day of June. After a few days of steady fine rain the soil
is in ideal condition for dahlia planting. Vitax Q4 was applied
at 3 ounces per square yard two weeks previously.
Two dahlia beds planted out.
Each bed has 50 dahlia plants made up of Karenglen, Abridge Taffy,
Barbarry Bluebird, Peach, Candy and Wootton Cupid.
3rd Frost warning!!! Panic sets in...dahlias
covered with fleece and Rocolene.
4th
- Contrary to popular belief the sun does occassionally shine
in Scotland.
8th - One week in the ground and the dahlia plants are looking
good. The new
growth can be clearly seen. Started planting small cactus dahlias.
